POSTSEASON FUN
FIRST ROUND FOCUS
  • A LOOK AT THE LADY BUFFS: West Texas A&M enters the LSC Tournament as the No. 3 seed. The Lady Buffs boast one of the most efficient offenses in the conference, averaging 13.4 kills per set on .252 hitting, while holding opponents to just .142. Offensively, they are led by standout hitters Currie Marusak (3.55 kills/set) and Emma Becker (3.15 kills/set), while middle blocker Taytum Stow provides both scoring and stability at the net with her .399 hitting percentage and 2.50 kills per set. WT also averages 2.5 blocks per set, making their front line one of the most impactful in the league. In their earlier match-up this season, WT used depth, tempo and strong block adjustments to overcome TWU's fast start. Their offensive balance remains a key factor heading into Thursday's match.
  • A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: The Pioneers enter championship week confident and battle-tested. TWU leads the conference in digs per set, 19.4, and ranks near the top in blocks with 2.6 blocks per set, showcasing one of the toughest defensive identities in the LSC. They also rank at sixth in the nation in both categories. Offensively, TWU is paced by standout outside hitter Tori Woods (3.30 kills/set) and dynamic right-side attacker Myracle Stockman (2.55 kills/set), who has been one of the Pioneers' most reliable scoring options. Setter Kiana Reed continues to guide the offense efficiently with 6.23 assists per set, while libero Alyssa Rojo anchors the back court with a conference-leading 5.60 digs per set. With several lineup adjustments throughout the season, TWU's depth has played a critical role in building momentum heading into the postseason.
  • THE POSTSEASON PATH: TWU's 2025 season has been defined by resilience, growth and elevated expectations. After navigating a strong schedule and securing a postseason berth, the Pioneers now look to extend their season on the conference's biggest stage. Against West Texas A&M, the Pioneers will look to win the serve-pass battle, stay disciplined at the pins, limit extended scoring runs and generate consistent pressure through both their blocking and back-row defense as they push for a postseason run.
