For just the third time in program history, the Pioneers (15-3-3) are NCAA Tournament–bound, earning the No. 5 seed in the South Central Regional. TWU will open postseason play on Friday, Nov. 21, at noon in Dallas, taking on No. 4 seed Colorado Mesa (14-3-2) in the first round of the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship.

THE REMATCH

  • A LOOK AT COLORADO MESA: Colorado Mesa arrives in Dallas after one of the strongest campaigns in RMAC and program history, finishing 14-3-2 and going undefeated in conference play (9–0–2). Their defensive dominance defined the season, producing 15 shutouts, including a remarkable run of 12 in a row, and surrendering zero goals in RMAC play before allowing just one in the conference championship match. Six Mavericks earned All-RMAC recognition, led by RMAC Goalkeeper of the Year Keely Wieczorek and First Team selections Olivia Barrett, Kylie Wells, and Ally Wachtel. Colorado Mesa will aim to mirror their 2023 postseason run.

  • A  LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: The Pioneers enter the NCAA Tournament riding the momentum of one of the most successful seasons in program history. TWU tied the school record for single-season wins, posted a program-best 13 shutouts, and allowed just 16 goals across 21 matches, establishing a defensive identity that has carried them into the regional field. Offensively, the Pioneers have produced their most dynamic attack since 2019, led by the breakout season of Giselle Gutierrez, who shattered the program's single-season scoring record with 12 goals. TWU has also recorded its highest goals, points, and assists totals since 2019.

  • KEYS TO THE GAME: BE THE ONE TO ATTACK FIRST>> The Pioneers will look to seize control early, as they've consistently played their best soccer when they strike first and dictate the tempo. TWU's attack is most dangerous when it stays aggressive, presses forward, and forces opponents to chase the game rather than the other way around. Protecting a lead also allows the Pioneers' defensive structure to settle in, leaning on one of the region's most reliable back lines. If TWU can set the tone from the opening whistle and maintain composure in key moments, they'll put themselves in a strong position to advance.

The NCAA Tournament begins Friday, Nov. 21, at noon, as No. 5 seed TWU meets No. 4 seed Colorado Mesa in Dallas.
