SAN ANGELO, Texas (Nov. 21, 2025) – The Texas Woman's volleyball team is set for Semifinal Friday.
TWU (19-10, 11-6) will be in the Lone Star Conference Championships Semifinals for the 13th time. They meet the No. 2 seed Lubbock Christian (24-6, 15-2) at 4 p.m. at Angelo State.
It will be the second meeting between the two teams this season. On Oct. 31, the Pioneers met the Lady Chaps in Lubbock, Texas and fell in a tightly contested five sets.
Yesterday, the Pioneers defeated No. 3 seed West Texas A&M in four sets to advance to the semifinals. LCU met No. 7 seed Oklahoma Christian in the quarterfinal round and went to five sets, prevailing in set five, 19-17, to advance to the semifinals.

- HISTORY AGAINST LCU: The Pioneers have met the Lady Chaps 12 times. TWU owns the all-time record against them, 7-5. On the road, TWU is 3-3, while they are 2-4 in LSC action. The teams have only met on a neutral site twice, back in 1988 and 1984. The Pioneers won both of the neutral site meetings.
- QUARTERFINALS FOR THE PIONEERS: In their four set win over WT, the Pioneers held the Lady Buffs to hitting just .077 – their lowest hitting percentage of the season. TWU hit .217 with 55 kills. TWU had four aces and allowed three from WT. They recorded 14 total blocks – tying the most allowed by WT this season. The Lady Buffs had eight blocks in the match. The Pioneers also won the assists battle, 51-44, and the digs battle, 73-67. Benedite Anuman led TWU in offensive efficiency with 10 kills and hit .471. Tori Woods led the Pioneers in kills with 18 on the day. Jonaida Donowa had eight blocks in the win.
- QUARTERFINALS FOR THE LADY CHAPS: In their five set win over OC, LCU hit .188 on 81 kills, while the Eagles hit .165. The Lady Chaps recorded two aces to OC's five, and the Eagles dominated the block battle over LCU, recording 18 blocks to the Lady Chaps six. Emilee Sikora led the Lady Chaps attack with 23 kills on .205 hitting, and Payton Murray also finished with 20 or more kills, adding 21 in the win. Lily Bickley led the offensive efficiency, hitting .289 for 16 kills. The LSC Setter of the Year Camdyn Sears dished out 63 assists. Three Lady Chaps recorded 20 or more digs.
- RANKINGS IN THE LSC: TWU ranks No. 1 in points, averaging 17.21 per set. LCU ranks second in points with 17.05 per set. The Pioneers hold their opponents to the second lowest hitting percentage in the LSC, .145, and the Lady Chaps rank fourth in this category, allowing .159. LCU ranks first in assists per set, averaging 13.34 per set, and first in kills with 14.03 per set. The Pioneers rank first in blocks at 2.65 per set. The two teams also rank one and two in digs. LCU ranks first averaging 19.53 per set, while TWU ranks second averaging 19.39 per set.
