SAN ANGELO, Texas (Nov. 21, 2025) – On Friday afternoon, the Texas Woman's volleyball team fell in three sets to the No. 2 seed Lubbock Christian.
TWU (19-11, 11-6) fell in their 13th appearance in the Lone Star Conference Championship semifinals to LCU (25-6, 15-2).
KEY PLAYERS
- Tori Woods finished as the lone Pioneer with double-digit kills, recording 10 on the day. She also added six digs.
- Kiana Reed and Lorena Gómez both finished with 13 assists and 10 digs each. It marked Reed's 16th double double of the season and Gómez's ninth.
- Alyssa Rojo topped the TWU leaderboard in digs with 22.
- Myracle Stockman and Bryanna Stanford both led with three block assists each.
KEY MOMENTS
- In the match, the Pioneers hit .088, while LCU hit .239. TWU once again led the blocking battle, 8-4.
- In the first set, the Pioneers trailed early 9-4, after a 5-0 LCU scoring run. A kill by Anuman would halt the run, as TWU would go on a 3-1 run to come within three, 10-7. The Pioneers would cut the deficit to one, 15-14, after a kill by Miriam Williams and Stockman. The Pioneers still trailed by one, 16-15, when LCU scored four straight to lead, 20-15. To close the set, TWU struggled to limit the runs of the Lady Chaps, as they closed set one on a 5-1 scoring run to win, 25-18.
- TWU could not find their momentum in set two. A 4-1 lead by LCU opened the set. While TWU struggled to string together runs, the Lady Chaps pieced together several scoring runs. Facing set point, 24-13, the Pioneers worked to capitalize on a service error and scored two more points, but LCU ultimately closed it out, 25-26.
- Set three saw the Lady Chaps open with seven unanswered points to take a 7-1 lead. Then, TWU would come within three, 10-7, after a kill by Trinity Blackwood and two kills by Woods. TWU would cut it to three several times and successfully limited the runs of the Lady Chaps; nevertheless, they were unable to string together points to take the lead. TWU would fall in set three, 24-18.
