DENTON, Texas (Nov. 3, 2025) - The Texas Woman's soccer team is set to take on Angelo State on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 6 p.m. in their regular season finale at Pioneer Soccer Park, with playoff positioning on the line.

The Pioneers (12-2-3, 8-2-3) return home following a 2-0 Senior Day victory over St. Edward's on Saturday. TWU currently sits in fourth place in the conference standings, trailing Dallas Baptist, Midwestern State, and UT Dallas, but holding their position just ahead of Angelo State (9-3-5, 8-2-3). Tuesday's matchup carries major implications for the conference tournament and postseason seeding.

PSP IS THE PLACE TO BE!

CONTROL THE MATCH PACE

  • A LOOK AT ASU: The Rambelles enter Tuesday's match just behind the Pioneers in the standings, holding the same conference record. They are coming off a 1-1 draw with Texas A&M International over the weekend. ASU is led by forward Sanai Stewart, who has scored seven goals this season, and by a defense that has kept opponents in check throughout the year. The Rambelles will look to clinch their 10th win of the season and continue their success in Denton — their last victory at Pioneer Soccer Park came in 2023. Angelo State leads the all-time series, 22-11-2.

KEEPING THE MAIN THING THE MAIN THING

  • A  LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: TWU enters the finale on a three match winning streak, all by shutout. Head coach Babak Abouzar and his squad has shown impressive balance this season, with multiple players contributing goals and assists. Junior forward Giselle Gutierrez leads the team with 10 goals and five assists, ranking third on the team. Defensively, the Pioneers have recorded 10 shutouts this year, including three straight. Lone Star Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, Faith Graves, has anchored the defense with three shutouts in her last four starts, allowing only two goals during that stretch. With playoff implications in full swing, TWU controls their own destiny and will look to secure a statement win to strengthen its postseason position.

  • KEYS TO THE GAME: PLAY ALL 90 MINUTES >> Through 17 matches, the Pioneers average 2.29 goals per match with a .471 shots-on-goal percentage. They have outscored opponents 39–13 while averaging 16.2 shots per match. Defensively, TWU has allowed just 13 goals on 100 total shots (5.9 per match). Both teams enter Tuesday's matchup evenly matched statistically. The Pioneers will look to start strong, dictate the pace, and limit ASU's offensive opportunities.

TWU aims to close out the regular season on a high note and lock in a strong postseason position as they face the Angelo State Rambelles at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Pioneer Soccer Park in Denton.
