PIONEERS HOLD STEADY AT NO. 4 ON WBCA POLL

DENTON, Texas (Dec. 16, 2025) – With no games on the schedule last week for the Texas Woman's basketball team due to Finals, the Pioneers held steady at No. 4 on this week's release of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association National Poll. 
 
TWU is currently on a six-game win streak. TWU ranks third in scoring in the LSC, averaging 71 points per game. They rank fourth in defense, holding opponents to 57.1 points per game. On average, the Pioneers are defeating their opponents by 13.9 points, which ranks second in the LSC. TWU's leads the LSC in team field goal percentage with a 47% from the field – a mark which ranks 10th in NCAA Division II. The Pioneers also top the LSC leaderboard in free throw percentage, shooting 78.9% from the charity stripe.

From the LSC, Lubbock Christian (11-0) remained at No. 3, and West Texas A&M (8-1) moved up one spot to No. 9. St. Mary's is receiving votes in the poll. Fellow South Central Region opponent, Colorado Mesa (11-1) continued to climb, as they were ranked 11th this week. 

Grand Valley State (9-0) remained at No. 1, and Minnesota State Mankato (11-0) held steady at No. 2.
