PIONEERS MOVE UP TO NO. 3 IN WBCA NATIONAL POLL

DENTON, Texas (Dec. 23, 2025) – After two wins to close 2025, the Texas Woman's basketball team moved up one spot to No. 3 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) National Poll. 
 
TWU is currently on an eight-game win streak. TWU ranks second in scoring in the LSC, averaging 71.4 points per game. They rank second in defense, holding opponents to 54.5 points per game. On average, the Pioneers are defeating their opponents by 16.9 points, which ranks second in the LSC. TWU's leads the LSC in team field goal percentage with a 46.6% from the field – a mark which ranks ninth in NCAA Division II. The Pioneers also rank second in free throw percentage, shooting 74.5% from the charity stripe.

From the LSC, Lubbock Christian (12-1) dropped a game to UCCS and fell to No. 7, and West Texas A&M (11-1) moved up one spot to No. 8. St. Mary's is receiving votes in the poll. Fellow South Central Region opponent, Colorado Mesa (13-1) held steady at No. 11 in this week's poll. 

Grand Valley State (10-0) remained at No. 1, and Minnesota State Mankato (13-0) held steady at No. 2.
