DENTON, Texas (Feb. 17, 2025) – The Texas Woman's basketball team currently ranks first in the Lone Star Conference and fifth in Division II in defense, holding teams to an average of 50.1 points per game.

After a week of holding their opponents to just 49 points per game, Ashley Ingram led the Pioneers defense and was named the LSC Defensive Player of the Week.

"Ashley continues to anchor our defense at a high level, as she holds the other team's best post players to low percentages on offense," said TWU Basketball Head Coach Beth Jillson. "She also does a great job of seeking the basketball and securing rebounds to limit the second chance opportunities of the other team. I am proud of Ashley for continuing to bring her best each and every day.

On the week, Ingram averaged 16.5 points per game, dished out six assists, grabbed four steals and 14 total rebounds. Ingram also went a perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line in the Pioneers' two wins.
