PIONEERS TRAVEL TO CENTENARY FOR DUAL MEET

SHREVEPORT, La.  (Feb. 21, 2025) – The Texas Woman's gymnastics team is headed on the road for a Saturday afternoon meet against Centenary.

TWU will meet the Ladies in the Gold Dome on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. for their second meeting of the season. The two teams first met in the Pioneers' season opener in Kitty Magee Arena on Jan. 12. In the meet, TWU claimed the win – 194.000 to 180.375. It marked a season opener record for the Pioneers.

Last week, the Pioneers competed in two meets. On Friday, Feb. 14, they went to the Metroplex Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas and competed against California and Utah State. At the Metroplex Challenge, TWU scored a season high 195.375. Then, at the Denver Quad Meet, the Pioneers posted a 194.200 against No. 21 Denver, No. 10 Oregon State and Ball State.

Following the weekend, Emma Brkljacic received the Midwest Independent Conference Performance of the Week honor. Brkljacic tied for the event title on beam at the Metroplex Challenge, scoring a season high 9.875. Then, she placed third at the Denver Quad Meet on beam with a 9.850.

Centenary last competed on Friday, Feb. 14 on the road at a Tri Meet hosted by Southeast Missouri State. Against SEMO and Northern Illinois, the Ladies scored a season high 186.525.
