MADE FOR THE MOMENT
- WHAT'S AT STAKE: The Pioneers and the Patriots meet in the final game of the regular season for the third straight season. TWU is 2-1 in those meetings; nevertheless, the Pioneers have claimed three straight LSC Regular Season Championship titles. TWU has one loss on the season to UT Tyler, which has TWU tied with UT Tyler and Lubbock Christian in conference records – as all three teams have one loss each. The winner of the game on Thursday would claim the East Division Title. With a win, TWU would claim a share of the title with the 1-1 split with the Patriots. The Patriots fell to Lubbock Christian in the regular season. With a win, the Pioneers would claim a share of the LSC Regular Season Title, which assumes LCU wins their final regular season game; furthermore, TWU would win the tiebreaker for LSC Tournament seeding, since they defeated the Lady Chaps during their regular season meeting. On Thursday, the Pioneers also look to break a program record for most consecutive wins at 22.
- LAST MEETING: In their previous meeting in the regular season, TWU got out to a slow start with just 11 points in the opening quarter of action. The Pioneers would win the second and third quarters, as they headed into the final quarter of action trailing by just two points. The Patriots would win the fourth quarter, 20-11, to close the game with the win. TWU turned the ball over the second most times of the season in the game, 20. They would shoot their third lowest percentage from three of the season and second lowest percentage from the field. After the loss, the Pioneers ignited a season long run of wins. TWU will look to take advantage of their strong offense at home, protect the ball and defend well to defeat the Patriots.
