FRISCO, Texas (March 9, 2025) – The Pioneers are in familiar territory, as they play on Championship Sunday for the third straight season.
No. 1 TWU (30-1, 21-1) will meet the two seed and No. 8/11 Lubbock Christian on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Comerica Center.
TWU last met LCU in postseason action in 2023 in the Semifinals, and the Pioneers set an LSC record for three point percentage, going 72.2% from beyond the arc. TWU would claim the win, 84-49.
The Pioneers and Lady Chaps will tip-off for the title at 1 p.m.

- LAST MEETING: TWU and LCU met in the regular season on Dec. 6 in Kitty Magee Arena. The Pioneers held the Lady Chaps to two quarters of under 10 points, including just two points in the third quarter, as TWU claimed the win, 58-40. Three Pioneers finished in double digits – Averee Kleinhans, Leila Patel and Socut Huffman. TWU forced LCU to turn the ball over 29 times. The Pioneers and Lady Chaps both finished the season with just one loss in conference action.
- DEFENSIVE BATTLE: Both TWU and LCU rank one and two in defense in the LSC. The Pioneers are holding teams to 50.9 points per game, while the Lady Chaps are holding teams to 52.4 points per game. The Pioneers also rank No. 1 in opponent field percentage, as they hold teams to just 34.4% from the field. LCU ranks third, allowing teams to shoot 35.3% from the field. Both teams rank in the top in the LSC in team field goal percentage, as they are both averaging 47.7% from the field.
- DEPTH IS KEY: The Lady Chaps have three players who rank in the top 10 in the LSC in minutes per game, as they all average over 31 minutes per game. TWU most minutes per game player is Ashley Ingram, who averages 31 per game. The next highest is Leila Patel at 27.1. TWU has a deep bench that averages 24.4 points per game. The LCU bench averages just 13.6 points per game. The Pioneers' depth will be a difference maker in the game.
