DENTON, Texas (Sept. 13, 2025) – The Texas Woman's soccer team wrapped up their nonconference schedule in commanding fashion Saturday, rolling past Oklahoma Baptist, 6-1, at the OBU Soccer Complex. The six-goal performance marked TWU's (4-0) largest margin of victory since 2019 and the most goals scored in a single game since 2014.
The Pioneers came out firing, living up to their fast-start mentality by scoring two quick goals within the first 12 minutes. TWU netted four total in the first half before allowing their first goal of the season late in the opening period. The Pioneers responded with two more goals in the second half to seal the win and complete an undefeated nonconference schedule.

'12: Less than five minutes later, Luna capitalized on a Bison turnover deep in their own territory, finishing with a corkscrew shot past the goalkeeper to double the advantage.

'17: After a pair of key stops from the TWU defense and goalkeeper Farris, Giselle Gutierrez connected with Arizmendi, who scored her first career goal to push the lead to 3-0.

"Really proud of how our team came out in the first 15 minutes of the game and scored two really nice goals," Abouzar said. "Having a sense of urgency from the start was something we challenged them with going into this game. We're not only scoring goals but they're being scored by different players. I think that really shows the depth we have on our team."
