COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Oct. 15, 2026) - The Texas Woman's wrestling team has been selected to finish fifth in the 2026-27 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Wrestling Preseason Coaches' Poll.

The poll is voted on by the RMAC's six women's wrestling head coaches, who are not permitted to vote for their own teams.

Texas Woman's earned 11 points, placing fifth behind Adams State (14 points) and ahead of Western Colorado (five points). Simon Fraser is the preseason favorite with 23 points and four of the six available first-place votes. Colorado Mesa follows closely with 22 points and the remaining two first-place votes.

The Pioneers look to build on their 2025-26 season, which included several strong individual performances but no national qualifiers. Three wrestlers finished fourth, fifth and sixth, at last year's Regionals, respectively. With a combination of returning wrestlers and new additions to the roster, head coach Randi Miller and the Pioneers look to strengthen the lineup heading into their fifth season of competition.

TWU begins its season Monday, Nov. 2, with the annual Maroon and Black Intersquad at Kitty Magee Arena. The Pioneers open their official competition Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Maverick Duals in Grand Junction, Colorado, before competing in the Maverick Open on Sunday, Nov. 8.
