DENTON, Texas (Sept. 11, 2026) - Texas Woman's Wrestling has officially released their 2026-27 competition schedule as the Pioneers prepare for their fifth season on the mat.
"This is a special group of girls, and the energy in our room right now is amazing," TWU Head Coach Randi Miller said. "I can't wait to see them compete."
The Pioneers will open the season at home on Nov. 2 with the annual Maroon and Black Intersquad at 6 p.m. at Kitty Magee Arena, giving fans their first opportunity to see the 2026-27 squad in action.
TWU opens official competition Nov. 7-8 in Grand Junction, Colo., at the Maverick Duals and Maverick Open, respectively. The Pioneers will then travel to Marshall, Mo., for the Missouri Valley Open on Nov. 13.
The Pioneers return home Nov. 20 for a pair of duals against Adams State and Texas Wesleyan at Kitty Magee Arena. TWU will close out the month on the road at the Fort Hays Tournament on Nov. 22 in Hays, Kan.
TWU will make one final trip in December, traveling to Tahlequah, Okla., to face Northeastern State on Dec. 1.
The Pioneers open the new year with back-to-back competition in Gunnison, Colo., traveling to the Western Colorado Duals on Jan. 8 before competing in the Western Colorado Open on Jan. 9. TWU will then head to Chadron, Neb., for the Chadron State Duals on Jan. 16 and Chadron State Open on Jan. 17.
The Pioneers return home Jan. 20 to host McMurry in Denton, Texas before heading to Colorado Springs, Colo., for the RMAC Tournament on Jan. 30 at Cadet East Gym.
TWU will begin February with a home dual against Northeastern State on Feb. 4 at Kitty Magee Arena.
The postseason begins March 4 with the NCAA Regional Tournament in Hays, Kan. Last season, three Pioneers placed at the NCAA Regional VI Tournament in St. Charles, Mo., led by freshman Samaria Barnett's fourth-place finish at 180 pounds. Poorna Babu placed fifth at 160 pounds, while Mackenzie Blue finished sixth at 145 pounds. Babu closed out her Pioneer career with her third consecutive regional podium finish.
The 2026-27 wrestling season concludes April 8-11 at UWW Nationals in Spokane, Wash.
With a talented group eager to take the mat, the Pioneers will look to build on the momentum of the program's first four seasons and make another strong push throughout the 2026-27 campaign.
