DENTON, Texas (June 17, 2026) – Pioneering excellence in the classroom remains a cornerstone of Texas Woman's Athletics.
During the 2025-26 season,
Maegan Flaherty excelled on the mat and in the classroom. As a result, she was named to the
College Sports Communicators (CSC) At-Large Academic All-District Team.
The CSC Women's At-Large Team "recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom." To be eligible for nominations, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (GPA). Wrestlers in the At-Large program must be in the lineup for at least 75 percent of team scoring events (open tournaments, duals) or compete in their weight class at a conference championship meet.
A senior from Prosper, Texas, Flaherty is pursuing a degree in marketing and business administration and maintained a 3.92 GPA throughout the year. She was named to the 2025-26 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Academic All-Conference First Team, becoming one of just 11 wrestlers across the conference selected for the prestigious honor and helping Texas Woman's earn RMAC Academic First Team recognition for the third consecutive year. Additionally, she earned 2025-26 NWCA Scholar All-American honors, recognizing her success in competition and dedication in the classroom as one of five Texas Woman's wrestlers to receive the national academic distinction.
On the mat this season, she competed in the 145 weight class and remained nationally ranked at No. 14 for multiple weeks throughout the 2025-26 campaign. She captured her first tournament championship of the season at the Chadron Open, posting a perfect 4-0 record and leading a strong showing for the Pioneers with multiple top-five finishes. Furthermore, she finished fourth at the 2026 RMAC Championships in the 145-pound weight class after recording a 2-2 performance against a highly competitive conference field.
With the addition of women's wrestling as an NCAA sport, this marks the first year the sport was included on the CSC At-Large nominations. Flaherty becomes the first Pioneer to receive the honor.
