SHREVEPORT, La. (Feb. 16, 2026) - On Sunday, Texas Woman's posted a season-high team score on the road in a win over Centenary.
TWU finished with a 196.100, while the Ladies scored 191.750. It marks the earliest point in the season the Pioneers have reached the 196 mark, setting a strong foundation for the remainder of the year.
The Pioneers' top event came on floor, where they posted a 49.250. TWU claimed the top five spots in the floor exercise, led by Kyleigh Ghanbari's meet-high 9.900. The score tied her season high, earned her the event title and was the highest mark on any apparatus Sunday. Sophie Hernandez, Sophia Isbell, Sofia Steffan and Kami Zarlengo each scored 9.800 or higher. Steffan and Zarlengo recorded career highs with marks of 9.825 and 9.800, respectively.
TWU opened the meet on bars, posting a 48.950. Caroline Bowns led the way with a season-high 9.850 to win the event, while Zarlengo placed second with a 9.775 to match her season high. Brooke Ferrari and Jordan Loock each scored 9.750 to tie for third, with Loock's mark setting a career high.
In the second rotation, the Pioneers moved to vault and finished with a 49.050. Alaina Reid led all competitors with a 9.850, matching her career and season high. Maddy Murphy and Isbell tied for second with 9.825s. Juliaunna Baker, Loock and Ghanbari each scored 9.775, with Baker and Loock recording career best marks on the event.
Texas Woman's closed the meet on beam with a 48.850. Steffan captured the event title with a career-high 9.850, while Reid and Isbell tied for second with 9.800s. Hernandez and Ghanbari rounded out the top five with matching 9.750s, marking a career high for Ghanbari.
"I am so proud of this team for stepping into the arena with great energy and intention today," TWU head coach Lisa Bowerman said. "They have been working so hard to continue to hone their team state and mentality, and today was a result of that hard work. Today is a good foundation for the second half of the season."
TWU returns to action Sunday, Feb. 22, hosting their first home quad meet of the season featuring Oregon State, Kent State and Arizona State. The meet is set for 2 p.m. CT.
