PIONEERS RETURN HOME FOR ALUMNI DAY QUAD MEET

DENTON, Texas (Feb. 21, 2026) - After a season-high team score in Louisiana, the Texas Woman's gymnastics team returns home to Kitty Magee Arena on Sunday to compete in its first home quad meet of the season.

The Pioneers will take the floor Sunday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. in KMA, meeting No. 26 Oregon State, Kent State and No. 31 Arizona State.

RIGHT AT HOME

  • Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. with the march-in at 1:55 p.m.

  • On Sunday, TWU will host Alumni Day, as they welcome back those who built tradition.

MARCH-IN

  • HISTORY: Oregon State currently ranks No. 26 in the nation. The Pioneers are 0-2 against the Beavers. Their last meeting was Feb. 16, 2025, in Denver, Colorado, with Oregon State winning by just over two points. The Pioneers and Kent State have met once, on Jan. 26, 2020, with the Golden Flashes narrowly defeating TWU. Arizona State and TWU have met three times, with TWU holding an 0-3 record. Their last matchup was Feb. 7, 2025, with Arizona State winning 196.600-195.225.

  • A LOOK AT OREGON STATE: The Beavers currently rank No. 26 nationally. Their highest event ranking is beam at No. 20. Their season-high score of 196.600 came against Utah State on Jan. 25, 2026. Most recently, Oregon State placed fourth with a 195.550 against California, UCLA and Washington.. 

  • A LOOK AT KENT STATE: The Golden Flashes are ranked No. 38 nationally. Their season-high score of 196.000 came in their most recent meet against Central Michigan. They rank highest on vault at No. 35. Charlie Behner led the way in that meet with a 9.900 on vault and bars and a 9.875 on floor. 

  • A LOOK AT ARIZONA STATE: The Sun Devils rank No. 31 in the nation. Their highest event ranking is vault at No. 29. They have scored 194.425 or higher in every meet this season. That 194.425 came in their most recent meet against West Virginia. Their season-high of 196.050 was recorded in January against BYU. 

  • LAST MEET: TWU last competed Sunday, Feb. 15, at Centenary, finishing with a 196.100. On floor, Kyleigh Ghanbari tied her season high with a 9.900 to lead the Pioneers. Sophie Hernandez, Sophia Isbell, Sofia Steffan and Kami Zarlengo each scored 9.800 or higher, with Steffan (9.825) and Zarlengo (9.800) recording career highs. On bars, Caroline Bowns won the event with a season-high 9.850. Zarlengo added a 9.775, while Brooke Ferrari and Jordan Loock each scored 9.750. On vault, the Pioneers totaled 49.050. Alaina Reid matched her career and season high with a 9.850. Maddy Murphy and Isbell tied for second with 9.825s, while Juliaunna Baker, Loock and Ghanbari each posted 9.775. On beam, TWU scored 48.850, with Steffan earning a career-high 9.850. Reid and Isbell tied for second with 9.800s, and Hernandez and Ghanbari each scored 9.750.

  • WEEKLY HONORS: Kyleigh Ghanbari earned her first MIC weekly award of the season, receiving Performance of the Week honors. Jordan Loock also claimed her first award, earning Co-MIC Coaches' Choice recognition. Ghanbari competed in three events at Centenary, winning floor with a 9.900. She added a 9.775 on bars and a career-high 9.750 on beam. Loock competed in two events, recording a career-high 9.750 on bars and a career-best 9.775 on beam. The honors mark the sixth and seventh MIC weekly awards for the Pioneers this season.
