FORT WORTH, Texas (Feb. 7, 2026) – After a road trip to California, the Texas Woman's gymnastics team will be back in the DFW area on Sunday at the Metroplex Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas.
On Sunday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m., the Pioneers will compete at the Fort Worth Convention Center against Oklahoma, Arkansas and Arizona.

- HISTORY: Arkansas currently ranks tenth in the nation. The Pioneers are 0-4 against the Razorbacks. The two teams last met on Jan. 20, 2025 in Fayetteville, Ark. with the Razorbacks claiming the win. Arizona comes into the meet ranked at No. 31. The two teams have already met once this season in Denton. The Pioneers claimed the win over Arizona 195.275-193.350. It marked the first program win for TWU against Arizona in 11 meetings. Oklahoma enters Sunday as the No. 1 team in the nation. TWU and OU have meet 22 times. The Pioneers highest score against the Sooner came in 2024, when the Pioneers scored a 196.275 at home in Kitty Magee Arena.
- LAST MEET: TWU last competed on Sunday, Feb. 1 at the San Jose State Tri Meet against San Jose State and Southern Utah. The Pioneers finished with a 194.875 at the meet. The Pioneers finished the meet strong, closing with two solid rotations on floor and vault. The Pioneers highest event score of the night came on floor in the third rotation, as TWU matched their season high on the event with a 49.125. Kyleigh Ghanbari, Sophia Isbell and Sophie Hernandez all tied for the event title on floor with 9.875s. Isbell's score marked a career high for the junior in the anchor spot, and it matched Hernandez's season high. Following floor, TWU kept their strong momentum rolling with a season high finish on vault of a 48.950. Scoring a carer high in the lead-off spot, Alaina Reid tied for the event title with a 9.850. Isbell took second overall with a 9.825. Hernandez closed the meet strong with a career high 9.775. Ghanbari followed up her high score on floor with a career high on vault of a 9.750, and Jordan Loock connected on an impressive vault finish to post a career high 9.750.
- WEEKLY HONORS: For the second straight week, Sophia Isbell earned two Midwest Independent Conference Weekly Awards. After two great performances this past week, Isbell earned MIC Gymnast of the Week and Performance of the Week honors. In their dual meet against UC Davis on Jan. 30, Isbell competed on vault, beam and floor. She claimed her second straight event title on vault with a 9.800. Additionally, she tied for the event title on floor with a 9.850, which matched her career high. On beam, Isbell scored a 9.725 to finish second on the event. Following the meet against UC Davis, Isbell kept the strong energy going at the San Jose State Tri Meet on Sunday, Feb.1. She matched her season high on vault to finish second with a 9.825, and she matched her score from Friday on beam with a 9.725. Her Performance of the Week came on floor, as she scored a career high 9.875 in the anchor spot to tie for the event title for the second straight meet.
