DENTON, TEXAS (March 7, 2026) - Texas Woman's gymnastics closed their home season with a team score of 195.350 in a narrow loss to Nebraska at Kitty Magee Arena on Friday for Senior Night. The Pioneers honored their three seniors - Ruby Goad, Brooke Ferrari and Kami Zarlengo in front of the home crowd, delivering a strong performance across all four events despite coming up just short against Cornhuskers, who scored 195.600.
The Pioneers opened the meet on vault, posting 48.775. Kyleigh Ghanbari led the team with a 9.825, followed closely by Maddy Murphy's 9.775 and Sophia Isbell's 9.750. Juliaunna Baker added 9.725, while Alaina Reid contributed a 9.700, giving TWU a solid start and keeping the team in striking distance.
On the uneven bars, the Pioneers matched their vault score with another 48.775. Jordan Loock paced the team with a 9.850, while Reid added 9.825. Ferrari recorded 9.775, Zarlengo had 9.625, and Steffan rounded out the rotation. The team executed clean handstands and tight transitions, staying competitive against Nebraska's top performers.
The balance beam proved a highlight for TWU as the Pioneers scored 48.725. Isbell led the way with a 9.800, while Goad added 9.775. Ghanbari and Hernandez each posted 9.725, and Ferrari scored 9.650. The Pioneers displayed poise and focus, delivering several strong dismounts and solid routines on the beam.
The Pioneers finished on floor exercise with their highest rotation of the night, scoring 49.075. Ghanbari and Isbell each earned 9.875 to lead the team, with Hernandez adding 9.825 and Zarlengo contributing 9.775. Steffan scored 9.725, and Ferrari added 9.650, helping TWU close the meet with energy.
TWU will travel to Oklahoma on Sunday, March 8 before competing in the Arizona Quad next week. The meet in Norman is set for 1:45 p.m.
