DALLAS (August 5, 2026) – In preparation for the 2026-27 season, the Texas Woman's Pioneer Pride Dance Team continued their winning ways.

To close the 2024-25 season, PPDT claimed their second straight National Dance Alliance (NDA) Spirit Rally National Title, and they finished second in Pom – their highest placement in program history. On July 17-19, the Pioneers traveled to Southern Methodist University to prepare for their upcoming season at the 2026 NDA Summer Camp. During the three days of camp, TWU showcased their game day routine, learned a new team dance routine and also strengthened many techniques. On Sunday, the camp culminated with competitions, All-American auditions and awards.

Throughout the camp, teams earn points from various camp activities, placement in competition categories and votes from NDA staff members. Based on point accumulation, teams with the most points receive a gold, silver or bronze bid to nationals.

This season, TWU claimed their third straight Gold Paid Bid to the 2027 NDA Collegiate Nationals in Daytona, Fla. The Pioneers earned First Place in Division II Game Day Runoff for the third straight year, First Place Division II in Team Dance for the third straight year and Most Spirited across all divisions and teams for the second straight season.

"What this team accomplished in one week is remarkable," said TWU Head Coach Marisa Martin. "With only seven days of dancing together for the first time, they exceeded every expectation at camp. They proved that success isn't about how long you've been together—it's about the commitment, trust and heart each person brings. Most Spirited, first place in both routines, and a Gold Bid to Nationals are well-deserved, and this is just the foundation for what's ahead!"

During camp, the Pioneers also had an opportunity to compete for NDA All-American honors. Throughout the three days of camps, the NDA staff nominate dancers to audition for All-America honors. The nominees are chosen based on their leadership, work ethic and dance ability shown during the camp. Nominees perform the team dance routine individually and are judged by the NDA staff based on their performances.

Caden Hensley and Kendall Madkins were named All-Americans, both earning their third All-America career honor.

At NDA Summer Camp, the Pioneers set the tone for more history in the upcoming season.
