DENTON, Texas (Sept. 1, 2026) - The Texas Woman's soccer team returns to action this week for a pair of nonconference matches, traveling to Southern Nazarene on Wednesday, Sept. 2, before returning home to host Colorado Mesa on Sunday, Sept. 5.

The Pioneers (2-0) will face Southern Nazarene (0-0-1) at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Wes Harmon Field in Bethany, Oklahoma, before hosting Colorado Mesa (0-0) at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pioneer Soccer Park.

No. 18 TWU is off to a strong start, outscoring their opponents 6-1 through their first two matches in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Pioneers are averaging 15.5 shots per game and three goals per game while putting 21 of their 31 shots on target.

Following back-to-back wins over Chaminade and Hawai'i Pacific, TWU will look to carry their momentum into Wednesday's road matchup before returning home to close out the week against Colorado Mesa.

HITTING THE ROAD TO SNU

• A LOOK AT THE CRIMSON STORM: Southern Nazarene is searching for their first win of the season after opening with a 1-1 draw against Augustana. The Crimson Storm fell behind in the first half before scoring a late equalizer in the 76th minute. TWU leads the all-time series 5-0 against SNU. The Pioneers have won the last three meetings, including a 4-0 victory last season at Pioneer Soccer Park.

THE REMATCH WITH THE MAVERICKS 

• A LOOK AT THE MAVERICKS: Colorado Mesa will enter Saturday's match with one game under their belt, facing Midwestern State on Thursday before traveling to Denton to take on the Pioneers. The last time these two teams met was in last year's NCAA Division II Tournament Round of 32 in Dallas, Texas, where the Pioneers ended the Mavericks' season with a 1-0 double-overtime victory. TWU leads the all-time series 4-2. The Mavericks will look to avenge last season's tournament loss when they take on the Pioneers in TWU's home opener Saturday.

• A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: TWU's offense has started late in the previous two matches but has not let down. Over the past two matches, the Pioneers have 21 total shots with a 67% shots on goal rate. They have three assists on their six goals and has pressured defensives that has led to 12 corner kicks. Defensively, the Pioneers have allowed one goal against Hawai'i Pacific. Goalkeeper Faith Graves recorded two saves on 10 shots faced this previous week and was credited with the two wins.

The Pioneers look to continue building on their early success when they take on Southern Nazarene on Wednesday, Sept. 2, and Colorado Mesa on Saturday, Sept. 5.
