DENTON, Texas (Sept. 8, 2026) - The Texas Woman's soccer team remained on the NCAA Division II United Soccer Coaches Top 25 ranking on Tuesday, earning the No. 15 spot after opening the season with nonconference wins over Southern Nazarene and Colorado Mesa.

"We're proud of the recognition and excited to see our team continue to move in the right direction," Head Coach Babak Abouzar said. "The jump to 15 is a reflection of the consistency and effort our players have shown. We know rankings are a result of what you've done, not what you're going to do. With conference play starting tomorrow, our focus quickly shifts to the next challenge and continuing to get better. We want to put ourselves in the best position possible to be playing our best soccer when it matters most at the end of the season."

The Pioneers were ranked No. 18 in last week's national poll. The No. 15 ranking matches the highest in program history, a mark TWU first reached in 2017.

TWU remains ranked No. 3 in the South Central Region. The Lone Star Conference has two teams in this week's national Top 25, with Dallas Baptist ranked No. 4 and TWU at No. 15.

Other Lone Star Conference teams ranked in the South Central Region's Top 10 include Midwestern State at No. 4, UT Dallas at No. 6, Oklahoma Christian at No. 9 and St. Mary's at No. 10.

In the conference standings, TWU sits second behind Midwestern State. Both teams are 4-0, while UT Dallas, Dallas Baptist and UTPB round out the top five.

The Pioneers return home Wednesday for their first conference match against Oklahoma Christian, with kickoff set for 6 p.m. TWU then returns to the road Saturday, Sept. 12, for a 1 p.m. match against St. Edward's in Austin, Texas.
