About the Pioneers
TWU recorded their first win since Sept. 14 with a 3-0 victory over UT Permian Basin Friday. Freshman midfielder Jazmine Navarro ranks second in the Lone Star Conference in assists with five, while senior midfielder Chelsea Martin has two game-winning goals on the year to sit second in the league and leads the Pioneers with four goals to rank fourth in the LSC.
 
About Angelo State
The Belles suffered their worst defeat of the season Friday in a 3-0 loss at Texas A&M-Commerce. Treneday Scott's 10 goals on the year lead the LSC, and teammate Cassandra Moosburger has five for the third-best mark in the league. Scott's trio of game-winning goals is tops in the conference.
 
History between TWU and ASU
ASU holds an all-time 15-8-1 edge over the Pioneers, and the first game in TWU program history was versus ASU where the Belles took a 5-0 win on Aug. 30, 2002.
In 2016, the Belles ended TWU's season during the first round of the LSC tournament by making one more penalty kick in the 2-2 double overtime finish.

COMMERCE, Texas (Nov. 3, 2016) – The 2016 season for Texas Woman's University ended in the quarterfinals of the Lone Star Conference Tournament in a 2-2 tie with Angelo State as the Belles knocked out the Pioneers to advance to the semifinals after outscoring TWU 4-3 in penalty kicks Thursday night on Lion Soccer Field on the campus of Texas A&M-Commerce.
The fifth-seeded Pioneers (9-8-2, 5-7-1 LSC) met the scoring output of the fourth-seeded Belles (11-6-2, 7-5-0 LSC) despite being outshot 24-to-4 and amassing far fewer shots on goal, 11-to-4. Lone Star Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, Samantha Jimenez, tied her career-high with nine saves compared to two by the Belles.
