DENTON, Texas
- The 14th annual Pioneer Power Sprint Triathlon and 5K, hosted by the TWU soccer program, drew 375 participants to the event held on Sunday, July 18 on the Texas Woman's University campus.

"What an event! After two years this event came back bigger and better than ever with the most attendees to date," said head coach Babak Abouzar. "Our team did a great job volunteering and helping out with the operations side of things. We want to thank Dan Jones and his team at Dallas Athletes Racing. Their ability to put on top notch races is second to none in this industry. Thank you to all of the participants. We hope to see you all at one of our games this Fall and at next year's event."

Once again, the race was produced by Dallas Athletes Racing, under the supervision of race director Dan Jones. Local sponsors of the event included Velo Republic, Bear Creek Running Co., Groggy Dog, Fuzzy's Taco Shop, TWU Bookstore, TWU Student Union, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton, Dallas Athletes Racing, and Crown Trophy of Lewisville.

The profits from the triathlon and 5K will benefit the TWU soccer program.
