TWU WRESTLING CLAIMS FIVE PLACES; YAUGER MAKES HISTORY

GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado (Nov. 5, 2022) - Texas Woman's wrestling competed in their first dual meet of the season against No. 3 Colorado Mesa on Friday, Nov. 4. 
 
Three of the Pioneers recorded their first wins of the season against the Mavericks. Mercedes Nerios scored four points, followed by Sheanareial Miller and Aubrey Yauger who both recorded a total of five points. The Pioneers totaled 14 points for the night. 
 
On Saturday, Nov. 5, The Pioneers competed in the Maverick Open, which featured 116 wrestlers from several different schools. Of those 116 wrestlers, 15 Pioneers competed and placed five including Ashlee Rice, Brooke Zejda, Miller, Yauger and Faith Perez
 
Yauger was a force to be reckoned with this weekend. She competed and defeated the preseason's No. 1 ranked wrestler in the nation, not once but twice. 
 
The Pioneers are set to compete in their first home dual against Texas Wesleyan on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. in Kitty Magee Arena. It'll be a battle of the TWU's.
