DENTON, Texas (Nov. 9, 2022) - The Lone Star Conference recognized both
Tori Woods and
Trixie Oche as Second Team All-Conference for their amazing 2022 season performance.
"I'm proud of Trixie and Tori to be named to the Second Team All-Conference," Head Volleyball Coach
Jeff Huebner said. "In a league as tough and as deep as the Lone Star Conference, being in the top 30 players is an excellent recognition. I'm most proud of the consistency and focus that both Tori and Trixie bring to our program. Their commitment to excellence daily in all aspects of being a student-athlete makes them both a joy to coach!"
Tori Woods took home not one but two honors and was named to the LSC All-Freshman team. Woods is a freshman pin hitter from Brookston, Indiana and was a highly decorated athlete at Lafayette High School.
Woods played in a total of 105 sets across 28 matches in her freshman season. She averaged 2.69 kills per set for a career total of 282 kills. Within the LSC, Woods ranked No. 3 in service aces, closing the season with 12 aces in total. Woods made 274 digs during the season and totaled 338.5 points.
Trixie Oche closed her final season with the Pioneers on Nov. 5. This season Oche appeared in 99 sets across 27 matches, with a No. 4 ranked hitting efficiency of .342 in the LSC.
Defensively, Oche cashed 84 blocks during the season, and totaled 229.5 points. She is now listed in the TWU history books as the third All-Time Blocker, with a total of 424 career blocks. This will be Oche's third All-Conference award, as she was named honorable mention and first team as a sophomore.
