The Pioneers played two more games following their historic win. In the second game of the day, they lost to the host school, OBU, 21-0. TWU closed the day on a positive note, scoring five points in a loss to Oklahoma City University.
"I'm so proud of this team for making history today," Owens said. "I will never forget it. Getting at a win in season one is tough, so it shows how resilient and determined this team is."
