DENTON, Texas (Jan. 26, 2023) - In a rematch of the Battle of the TWU's, Texas Woman's wrestling fell to Texas Wesleyan on Wednesday, Jan. 25 in Fort Worth, TX.
 
The Rams recorded 30 points to the Pioneers 13 points. 
 
Six Pioneers took the mats that night, and three registered points. Including Mercedes Nerios (116) with three points, Poorna Babu (155) and Aubrey Yauger (191) registering five points. 
 
In a 9-6 decision, Nerios dominated her opponent, Kaycie Tanimoto. At the 123-weight class the Pioneers forfeited, giving five points to the Rams, followed by a double forfeit from both the Pioneers and the Rams. 
 
Babu took the win in the 155-weight class after an injury default slowed the Rams. Yauger claimed the triumph in the 191-weight class due to forfeit by the Rams. 
 
The Pioneers are headed to Clarksville, AZ to face familiar opponent University of the Ozarks on Feb. 11, time is to be announced.
