DENTON, Texas (April 8, 2023) – It takes gymnasts less than a minute to execute a vault, but the minute today created an unforgettable moment for senior Daisy Woodring.

In individual event finals, senior Daisy Woodring scored a 9.825 to be crowned the individual national champion on vault, earning the first individual national title of her career.

Madeline Gose also climbed the award blocks, as she placed second on vault with a 9.763.

On the uneven bars, Brooke Ferrari capped off an impressive freshman campaign with a third-place finish on bars, scoring a 9.813.

On the balance beam, the Pioneer pair of seniors, Alix Pierce and MacKenzie Kunzman finished ninth and 10th overall, scoring a 9.513 and a 9.475.

Emily Six performed a solid routine on beam to finish in third place, scoring a 9.838.

Finally, on the floor, Gose ignited the crowd in KMA and scored a 9.863 to place second overall. Pierce, performing for the final time in KMA, attacked every skill and scored a 9.850 to place third.

Senior Mara Johnson also performed her final floor routine in KMA today. With an incredibly executed routine, she tied for seventh with a 9.750.

All seven Pioneers earned first team All-America honors for qualifying for the event finals today. Additionally, Woodring and Kyla Podges posted qualifying scores for the event finals on Thursday night but were unable to compete due to the max number of gymnasts, a USA Gymnastics rule. Woodring and Podges were named first team All-Americans on beam.

Also announced today, Steelie King competed in All-Around on Thursday night and placed sixth with a 38.425.

"I am so proud of this team," TWU Head Coach Lisa Bowerman said. "They brought passion to every moment this season and continued to give their all. It was an honor to close out this season at the national championships in our home arena in front of all our Pioneer fans. Our fans always bring the best Pioneer energy, and we are so grateful for all the support this season. Another season came to a close today, but I am so proud of each gymnast and thankful for a great season of Pioneer gymnastics."
