DENTON, Texas (Sept. 29 2023) – Texas A&M International is the next Lone Star Conference opponent for the Texas Woman's soccer team. TWU hits the road again and faces TAMIU on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. at Dustdevil Soccer Field.
The Pioneers (7-1-1, 2-1) who currently sit second to Dallas Baptist, look to claim to the top spot of the LSC standings with a win over the Dustdevils (2-2-3, 0-1-1) who have not won an LSC game yet.
TWU comes into the match with a two-game winning streak against St. Edward's (2-0) and Oklahoma Christian (1-0). Last time TAMIU won a game was on Sept. 8 against Felicia (5-0). The Dustdevils lost against Angelo State (2-0) on Wednesday night and tied with West Texas A&M (0-0) last Saturday.

A LOOK BACK
The Pioneers and the Dustdevils have faced each other five times, and TWU has always earned a result. Besides the 1-1 tie in 2022, the Pioneers defeated TAMIU in all other matchups between these two teams.
Bri Luna was the only goal scorer for the Pioneers in the 2022 tie.
#PIONEERPROUD
TWU records six clean sheets in nine games this season, but more impressively, they have only allowed two goals -stats that placed Amanda Farris as the LSC leader in shutouts per games, saves and goals against average.
The Pioneers have shown a solid foot so far this season, and their defensive back line have demonstrated to be a tough one to beat. TWU has had three Pioneers earn LSC defensive Player of the Week for three consecutive weeks, which speaks volumes of their defensive efforts.
