DENTON, Texas (Sept. 8, 2023) –  The undefeated Pioneers return home to Pioneer Soccer Park on Saturday for an afternoon matchup with Southern Nazarene at 1 p.m.

This will be the Pioneers third game in five days, while the Crimson Storm played just one other game this week on Wednesday, Sept. 6 and recorded a 1-1 tie against Oklahoma Christian. SNU comes into the game on Saturday with a 2-0-1 record.

TWU will look to continue their winning streak on Saturday in front of the home crowd.

ON A ROLL
  • STRIKER STRIKES AGAIN: Freshman Alyssa Striker has scored in all three games for the Pioneers. As a freshman, she has started in all three games. Her three goals on the season currently ranks third in the LSC. Look for Alyssa Striker to be a difference maker on Saturday against SNU.
  • CRIMSON STORM: In their opening three matches, SNU has scored eight goals. They have also recorded 41 shots on the season. TWU has had a strong defensive back line in their opening matches. Goalkeeper Amanda Farris has only conceded one goal in three games, and she has recorded 10 saves on the season.
  • HISTORY LESSON: The Pioneers and Crimson Storm have only met twice, and they have not played each other since 2018. TWU owns the all-time record 2-0. When the two teams met in Denton in 2017, the Pioneers won 4-0. Then, in 2018, TWU traveled to Bethany, Okla. and defeated the Crimson Storm 2-1.
