DALLAS (Oct. 22, 2024) – The Texas Woman's soccer team continues their road stretch this Wednesday, Oct. 22, as they head to Dallas, Texas, to face undefeated Dallas Baptist at Patriot Soccer Field. The match begins at 7 p.m.
TWU (7-2-3, 3-1-3) are on a two game win streak heading into this matchup with DBU (8-0-3, 5-0-2). The Patriots lead the all-time series 13-8-3 and in their last outing in Dallas two seasons ago in 2022, SBU defeated TWU 2-0.

A LOOK AT THE PATRIOTS: Dallas Baptist is coming into the match on a three game win streak after victories over Lubbock Christian, Sul Ross State, and West Texas A&M. In their last three games, DBU has beaten their opponents for a combined score of 17-1 after 9-0 and 6-0 shutouts in their most recent outings. The Patriots average three goals a game and are second in total season goals in the Lone Star Conference with 33.

A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: TWU is coming off two significant LSC wins this past week against Eastern New Mexico and St. Mary's. The Pioneers defeated the Greyhounds 2-0 after goals from Giselle Gutierrez and Cadence Andersen for her first career goal. Celeste Beltran gave the Pioneers a 1-0 road win in San Antonio with an unassisted corner kick goal in the first half. Amanda Farris and the TWU defense have not allowed a single goal in five games and will look to slow down the high scoring Patriot offense and get the upset.

SOMETHING HAS TO GIVE: Texas Woman's has eight shutouts on the year, is second in the LSC in goals allowed (7), and has a .58 goal against average. On the other hand, DBU is first in goals a game average (3) shots on goal average (8.45), and first in assists with 31. The Patriots are also second in total goals (33) with players in the top ten in every offensive statistical category. The battle at the Patriot Soccer Field will come down to who gets the most chances at the goals as the Pioneers are outshooting their opponent 154-107 and average 12.8 shots a game.
The Pioneers will look to upset the nationally ranked Patriots tomorrow at 7 p.m. to improve their record and climb up the LSC rankings.
