LUBBOCK, Texas (Nov. 6, 2024) - The Texas Woman's soccer team (10-3-3, 6-2-3) is set to take on Lubbock Christian (8-6-3, 6-4-2) on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 3 p.m. TWU currently stands in third in the Lone Star Conference, while LCU ranks fourth.
This will be the fifth time the Pioneers have met with the Lady Chaps. The two teams have tied twice and have one win against one another.

A LOOK AT THE LADY CHAPS: Coming off a loss against Angelo State on Monday night, LCU returns home for their matchup against the Pioneers. The loss faced by the Lady Chaps was ultimately attributed to the offensive power of Angelo State. LCU will head into tomorrow's matchup hoping to rely on their passing abilities and shot opportunities. The Lady Chaps currently ranks fourth in assists in the LSC with an average of 1.294 per game. Similarly, they also rank fourth in shots on goal (118).Â

A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: While TWU had to cancel their match against UT Tyler on Monday due to unforeseen weather conditions, the Pioneers are currently on a three game win streak. TWU hopes to keep this momentum in their upcoming match and the postseason. In their last game against West Texas A&M, the Pioneers had a season high in goals scored in a game in their 3-1 win. TWU has a scoring average of 1.125 per game with a save percentage of .843. As Giselle Gutierrez ranks in the top 15 in goals and Celeste Beltran ranks seventh in assists, these team statistical leaders for the Pioneers will look to carry over their recent success into the regular season finale against the Lady Chaps.Â

DON'T WAIT TO ATTACK, START EARLY: In the majority of matches this season, the Pioneers have been able to secure an early goal from multiple shot attempts in the first half that has ultimately led to 10 wins thus far.TWU has outshot their opponents this season and averages 12.6 shots a game compared to 9.8 from their opponents. Defensively, Amanda Farris was recently named LSC Goalkeeper of the Week for her outstanding performance last week. With TWU ranking third in the LSC and having 201 shots and 63 saves this season, the Pioneers aim to use this to their advantage in their matchup against LCU.Â
TWU and LCU will play at the LCU Soccer & Track Facility tomorrow at 3 p.m. The Pioneers aim to make this their fourth consecutive win and finish the regular season strong.
