DENTON, Texas (Feb. 17, 2024) – The Texas Woman's volleyball team announced the addition of Addison Chapman to their 2024 roster.

Chapman, a right side, transferred and joined the Pioneers' team at the spring semester.

From Katy, Texas, Chapman brings collegiate volleyball experience to the TWU squad. She played for one season at the University of Louisiana Monroe.

"Addie is a great person," TWU Head Coach Jeff Huebner said. "She is dedicated and determined in a way that made her feel like a part of our team from the moment she stepped foot on campus. On the court, Addie adds physicality to our Pin position that will challenge every team in the league."

In her one season with the Warhawks, Chapman appeared in 29 sets. She recorded a career high seven kills on Sept. 5, 2023 against Jackson State. On, Sept. 22, she finished the match with a career high three block assists.

Prior to attending ULM, Chapman posted a decorated high school career. In 2019, she played volleyball at Atlee High School, in Mechanicsville, Virginia, and helped lead her team to a Regional Championship title. Then, in her junior season, she played for Katy High School, where she helped guide the team to the Area Champions title, Regional Semifinal and Quarterfinal Championship Title and a Regional Final Runner-Up finish.

Chapman's notable impact on her team's success was acknowledged with individual accolades. Following her junior season, she was named All-VYPE, after recording 155 kills. Then, as a senior, she received Second Team All-District honors, All-VYPE honors and THSCA Academic All-State recognition. In her senior season, she finished the year with 214 kills, 84 digs and 45 blocks.

As a dynamic player, Chapman led her team to post season appearances in 2019, 2020 and 2021.

She also excelled on the club volleyball court, playing for four years at Richmond Volleyball Club and two years at Houston Juniors Volleyball Club.

Chapman is committed to success in the classroom as well. During her junior and senior season, she received Academic All-District honors and was also awarded Academic All-State honors during her senior season.

At TWU, she will be majoring in kinesiology, and she said the esteem of the program drew her to TWU.

"I decided to attend TWU because of the highly recommended kinesiology program, intern opportunities, and to thrive as a student athlete," Chapman said.

The Pioneers are excited to welcome Chapman to the Pioneer family!
