DENTON, Texas (Jan. 25, 2025) – The Texas Woman's University wrestling team hosted its final regular-season home dual at Kitty Magee Arena on Friday night, competing against Lyon College and Schreiner University. In a Senior Night celebration, the Pioneers defeated the Scots 41-1 but fell to the Mountaineers in a tight battle, 23-19.
Maegan Flaherty, Pauline Grace Heimuli, and Jaycee Portee each finished the night undefeated in their respective weight classes. Flaherty and Heimuli both achieved a 3-0 record, with additional victories in exhibition matches.
In the matchup with Schreiner, both teams secured five wins apiece. Despite the Pioneers' efforts to make a comeback, Schreiner managed to edge them out with a final score of 23-19.
Coach Randi Miller's squad rebounded strongly with a commanding 41-1 win over Lyon, winning five head-to-head bouts and one additional exhibition match.

160 Weight Class: After a fireworks performance by Poorna Babu against SU with a win vs Schreiner from a suplex finish, Mia Howell secured a decision victory in the 160 class as well.

180 Weight Class: Heimuli continued her dominant performance, finishing the night 3-0 with two head-to-head wins.
