DENTON, Texas (Oct. 9, 2025) – The Texas Woman's volleyball team returns to Kitty Magee Arena this week for another Lone Star Conference home stand, hosting Sul Ross State and Western New Mexico.
TWU (9-6, 2-2 LSC) will face Sul Ross State (2-8, 0-4 LSC) on Friday, Oct. 10 at 6 p.m., followed by a match-up with Western New Mexico (7-7, 2-2 LSC) on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. inside KMA.

BACK IN KMA
- Friday night's match against Sul Ross State will mark the Pioneers Middle School night, welcoming local students, teams and families to KMA for a night of volleyball excitement. On Friday, the Pioneers will also be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Night. Following the match on Friday, the Pioneers will be signing autographs for those in attendance.
- TWU Volleyball will host Alumni Night on Saturday, welcoming former Pioneer players back to KMA to cheer on the current team in another key conference match-up.

- No outside food or drinks are permitted.
- Only certified service animals are allowed inside KMA.

HOME SWEET HOME
- A LOOK AT THE LOBOS: SRSU(2-8, 0-4 LSC) enters the weekend seeking its first conference win. The Lobos are averaging 8.5 kills per set on .103 hitting, while adding 14.0 digs and .8 blocks per set. Junior outside hitter Cassandra Espinoza leads Sul Ross with 60 kills (1.82 per set), followed closely by middle blocker Samantha Senak with 58 kills (1.76 per set) on a .242 clip. Setter Eliana Mata directs the offense with 111 assists (3.58 per set) and adds seven aces, while Danielle Senak and Sarah Chavez have each contributed over 40 kills. Defensively, BreAnna Quarles paces the back row with 89 digs (3.42 per set) and Espinoza adds 85 (2.58 per set). At the net, Samantha Senak leads the team with 17 total blocks (0.52 per set).
- A LOOK AT THE MUSTANGS: WNMU (7-7, 2-2 LSC) enters the weekend riding a two-match win streak after back-to-back home victories over Texas A&M International and Texas A&M–Kingsville. The Mustangs are averaging 11.1 kills per set on a .186 hitting percentage, while recording 15.0 digs and an impressive 2.7 blocks per set. Junior middle blocker Daphne Posthumus leads the Mustangs with 138 kills (2.51 per set) and a standout .340 hitting percentage, while also ranking among the LSC leaders with 64 total blocks (1.16 per set). Sophomore outside hitter Brynlee Barris follows closely with 111 kills (2.02 per set), and junior right-side Kaitlyn Salgado adds 120 kills (2.18 per set) to the attack. Senior setter Hannah Haggard directs the offense with 309 assists (5.62 per set), while libero Mikelle McAfee anchors the back court defense with 233 digs (4.24 per set). At the net, Posthumus and Barris form one of the conference's most consistent blocking tandems. The Mustangs' balanced front line and strong defensive presence have fueled their recent surge, making them a tough test as they continue conference play on the road.
- A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: TWU (9-6, 2-2 LSC) enters the weekend sitting at .500 in conference play after splitting its most recent road trip at ENMU and WT. The Pioneers are averaging 12.1 kills per set while hitting .196 as a team and holding opponents to just .148. Defensively, TWU averages 17.6 digs per set and ranks among the top blocking teams in the LSC with 2.4 blocks per set. Senior right side hitter Myracle Stockman leads the Pioneers with 135 kills (2.60 per set) on a team-best .254 hitting percentage, while also adding 37 blocks on the season. Senior outside hitter Tori Woods follows closely with 116 kills (3.22 per set) and a .233 hitting percentage, continuing to be one of TWU's primary scoring options. Middle blocker Jonaida Donowa contributes 63 kills and leads the front line with 54 total blocks, 1.18 per set - which ranks third in the LSC. Junior libero Alyssa Rojo continues to anchor the defense with 256 digs (4.83 per set), and senior setter Kiana Reed directs the offense with 329 assists (6.21 per set) and 15 service aces. With a well-balanced roster and depth across all positions, TWU looks to continue building momentum on its home court and improve its conference standing heading into the mid-season stretch.
