PIONEERS REMAIN RANKED NO. 3 IN NATIONAL POLL

DENTON, Texas (Jan. 27, 2026) – The Texas Woman's basketball team remained in the win column last week, as they defeated Midwestern State at home. 

Following their win, the Pioneers remain ranked No. 3 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association National Poll. 
 
TWU is currently on an 15-game win streak. They are 10-0 in the LSC and 9-0 on the road.

The Pioneers rank third in scoring in the LSC, averaging 72.7 points per game. They rank second in defense, holding opponents to 55.9 points per game. On average, the Pioneers are defeating their opponents by 16.8 points, which ranks second in the LSC. TWU leads the LSC in team field goal percentage with a 46% from the field – a mark which ranks 10th in NCAA Division II. The Pioneers also rank first in free throw percentage, shooting 75.3% from the charity stripe. They also rank third in assist-to-turnover ratio at 0.97 per game. 

From the LSC, West Texas A&M (18-1) remained at No. 6, and Lubbock Christian (15-4) fell to No. 23 after losing to UT Tyler. Fellow South Central Region opponent, Colorado Mesa (20-1) moved up two spots to No. 7 this week.

Grand Valley State (18-0) remained at No. 1, and Minnesota State Mankato (20-0) held steady at No. 2.
