COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Feb. 1, 2026) - The Texas Woman's wrestling team wrapped up competition at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, Jan. 31, earning multiple podium finishes and recording key wins over ranked opponents throughout the day.
The Pioneers were led by Brooke Zejda, who captured a second place finish at 124 pounds, advancing to the championship bout after defeating the second ranked wrestler in her weight class before falling to the top-ranked opponent in the finals. Poorna Babu and Samaria Barnett each earned third place finishes, adding to TWU's strong showing.
At 160 pounds, Babu posted a 3-1 record, highlighted by a victory over the fourth-ranked wrestler in her weight class. Barnett also went 3-1 on the day at 180 pounds to secure her spot on the podium.
Maegan Flaherty finished fourth at 145 pounds after a 2-2 performance, while Mackenzie Blue followed closely with a fifth place finish in the same weight class.
Several Pioneers recorded notable performances despite falling short of the podium. At 138 pounds, Abigail Gallardo earned a win over the No. 2 ranked wrestler in her opening match, while Sloan Stewart picked up a victory at 110 pounds.
