TYLER, Texas (Feb. 17, 2026) - Texas Woman's basketball began their final road trip of the regular season with their second of four scheduled rematches in Lone Star Conference play, again besting the UT Tyler Patriots 51-36 on their court.
UTT (17-9, 13-4) shot 24.6% from the field, their second lowest percentage of the season, and for their third lowest percentage from three-point range at 14.3%. Both teams however were efficient at the free throw line, each making every attempt but one. TWU (23-1, 17-0) however, made 18 of 19 attempts to the Patriots five of six. For the Pioneers, this marks the fourth time this season every free throw attempt but one was made, and sets a new season high with a 94.7% accuracy rating.
The win is TWU's fifth win in six previous meetings against the Patriots, and completes the season sweep following the 63-51 shootout win in the KMA on Feb. 5.

Elliott also tallied 17 rebounds, matching a season high for the third time. 14 of these were on defense, setting a new season high.
-
Madi Lumsden added 12 points in the win, shooting 5-for-8 from the field and making both free throw attempts. Lumsden also recorded three steals on defense, matching a season best.
-
Jada Celsur recorded nine points in the game, sinking a pair of shots from the field as well as five free throw attempts. The senior added a pair of blocks defensively, setting a new season high.
PIONEER POWER MOMENTS
-
After trading buckets to set the score at 2-2 early in the opening period, the Pioneers launched to a 10-0 scoring run beginning with a trey by Avery McConnell, establishing their first double digit lead of the game with the score at 12-2 with 3:21 remaining in the first. The Patriots would respond with a pair of buckets, but six points were all UTT could muster in the opening frame, with TWU taking a 14-6 lead into the second.
-
Similar to the first, a TWU scoring run preceded a brief trading of baskets to open the second period, this time an 8-0 rally. These points were spread out through the course of about five minutes, beginning with an Elliott jumper at the 7:24 mark, and ending with a pair of Celsur free throws to make the score 24-9 with 2:38 to go. A Celsur jumper and Elliott layup closed the scoring, with the Pioneers taking a 28-11 lead into the half.
-
The third period was more of a defensive battle, with neither team managing more than four consecutive points. A layup by Celsur 30 seconds in and a Lumsden layup with under six minutes to play were the Pioneers only scoring plays of this frame. The Patriots outscored TWU 9-4 in this period, but still trailed by 12 at 32-20 heading into the game's final period of play.
-
Fifteen of TWU's 18 made free throws occurred in the game's final period, as the Pioneers took great advantage of the 11 fouls committed by the Patriots. Only four of TWU's 19 points in the fourth were made off the free throw line - a layup by Lumsden with just over three minutes remaining, and an Elliott layup with 1:16 left on the clock. Elliott sinking both attempts from the charity stripe closed the scoring, and secured the 51-36 win.
