UTPB's Deonna Calhoun connected for the first and only goal of the game in the 56th minute after stealing the ball from a TWU defender and sending the ball into the right corner of the net.

Within 15 seconds in the 79th minute, Gutierrez and Cara Zwilling each attempted to tie the game but both shots were blocked by the Falcons. Aryana Maricle-Conroy fired an attempt five minutes later but the shot sailed wide, and Lucero Chavez had a look with less than four minutes remaining but UTPB's goalkeeper made the save. A final shot by Larson with 21 seconds on the clock went wide to conclude the match.
