About the Pioneers
TWU enters the final contest of Lone Star Conference regular season play with an overall record of 17-10 and are 10-9 in league play. The Pioneers clinched the sixth seed in the LSC tournament with Thursday's win over Cameron. The top eight teams advance to the tournament March 2-5 in Allen.
Kenesha Saygo has moved her way up through the Pioneer record books and is now the fourth-leading scorer in TWU history with 1,305 points. She also ranks 10th all-time in steals, 10th in assists and 11th in rebounds. Saygo currently leads the league in scoring with 19.3 points per game and has scored over 30 points three times over the last eight games.
Alexis Nezianya ranks fourth in blocked shots per game (1.2) and sixth in the LSC in offensive rebounds per game (2.5), while
Grace Mitchell is eighth in blocked shots (1.0).
About the Mustangs
With a conference mark of 5-14, MSU will finish the season in the ninth spot in the league and not qualify for postseason play. Whitney Taylor leads the Mustangs in scoring at 13.4 ppg, and Micheline Mercelita grabs a team-best five boards per game.

Kara Mitchell's shot attempt rolled off the rim for Texas Woman's University as time expired allowing Midwestern State to escape Kitty Magee Arena with a 66-65 win over the Pioneers Thursday night.
Bri'anna Gray hit a go-ahead layup for TWU with 10 seconds remaining, but the Mustangs countered by banking in a shot off the right block with two seconds on the clock that ultimately proved as the game-winner. Following a Pioneer timeout,

LAWTON, Okla. (Feb. 23, 2017) - Texas Woman's University trailed Cameron by 25 points in the third quarter before storming back to a 103-90 victory Thursday evening inside Aggie Gym led by 35 points from
Kenesha Saygo to clinch the sixth spot in next week's Lone Star Conference tournament.
The 103 points is the most scored by TWU since the 2013-14 season when the Pioneers hung 107 on Texas A&M-Kingsville in a five-point win, and is the second-highest output in a game involving two LSC opponents this season. Saygo was one point shy of tying her career-high and pulled down a game-high eight rebounds. Saygo has now eclipsed the 30-point threshold three times within the last eight games.
