Preview: Pioneers at Texas A&M-Kingsville and Angelo State


DENTON, Texas (Jan. 24, 2018) - Texas Woman's University travels to Texas A&M-Kingsville for a 7 p.m. contest Thursday and then Angelo State Saturday for a 2 p.m. tip.
 
About the Pioneers
TWU is looking for a second straight Lone Star Conference win after escaping with a 59-57 win at Cameron last Saturday. Senior forward Alexis Nezianya leads the team with averages of 12.3 points and 8.8 boards to rank 11th in the Lone Star Conference in scoring and third in rebounding, as well as being tops in field goal percentage at .470 and fourth in blocks per game with 1.6. Junior guard Bri'anna Gray averages 9.4 points, while junior guard KJ Stastny averages 8.2 points and is ranked seventh in the league in three-pointers per contest with 1.7.

DENTON, Texas (Dec. 2, 2017) - Grace Mitchell nailed a jumper in the lane on a shovel pass from Whitney Apari with six seconds remaining to give Texas Woman's University a 50-48 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville for the first Lone Star Conference win of the season for the Pioneers Saturday afternoon inside Kitty Magee Arena.
This is Mitchell's second game-winner versus the Javelinas as she secured a TWU victory during their last matchup during the 2016-17 season. Apari posted career-highs with 16 points and eight rebounds, and Alexis Nezianya tallied her fourth double-double on the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Marquita Daniels averages a league-high 3.4 steals for ASU.

DENTON, Texas (Nov. 30, 2017) - KJ Stastny scored a career and game-high 25 points in the Lone Star Conference opener for Texas Woman's University, but the Pioneers fell, 74-62, to Angelo State Thursday night inside Kitty Magee Arena.
Stastny hit four of her five three-point attempts and added four steals and four rebounds. Alexis Nezianya posted 11 points and seven rebounds, while Grace Mitchell added seven points and 11 rebounds.
