RICHARDSON, Texas (November 3, 2022) – At the close of the 2022 Texas Woman's soccer season, Alyssa Valdez was named to the Lone Star All-Conference Third Team.

"We're so proud of AV [Alyssa], and the recognition she is getting by being named to the All-Conference team," TWU Head Coach Babak Abouzar said. "She has been a player that her team has counted on to fill multiple positions and roles this season. Her game continues to grow and flourish through her time as a Pioneer."

Valdez, a sophomore midfielder from Dallas, Texas, played an integral role on the Pioneers' 2022 roster. Valdez plays a holding midfield, defensive position, and her speed thwarted the attack of many opponents.

Valdez started all 17 matches for the Pioneers. She finished the season with 10 shots, two on goal. She played a total of 1456 minutes for TWU.

"AV is an integral part of our team and program," TWU Assistant Head Coach Alyssa Taramona said. "We are thrilled and unbelievably proud that she has been recognized for her hard work by being named to the Lone Star All-Conference team. We are excited to see how she continues to grow as a person and player during her time at TWU."

As a freshman last season, Valdez was named to the Lone Star All-Conference Third Team, All-Freshman Team and 2021 LSC All-Tournament team.
