INDIANAPOLIS (March 2, 2022) – Ahead of the selection show on Sunday March 6, the NCAA released their final South Central Regional Rankings, and Texas Woman's University moved up to No. 3.
 
In their final week of the regular season, TWU (19-7, 12-3 Lone Star Conference) defeated Texas A&M University – Commerce and University of Arkansas – Fort Smith to clinch the No. 2 seed in the LSC.
 
The Pioneers were originally picked to finish 11th in the LSC Preseason Poll – now, they are set to play University of Texas – Tyler on Friday, March 4 in the LSC Championships Quarterfinals.
 
The jump back to No. 3 is the position the Pioneers were in the first week of the NCAA South Central Regional Poll. They dropped to No. 5 last but jumped back with their two wins this week.
 
No. 1 and No. 2 showed no change this week, with Texas A&M – Commerce (23-3) holding the first spot and Lubbock Christian University (24-5) remaining at No. 2.
 
Colorado Mesa University (19-5) dropped from No. 3 to No. 4, followed by West Texas A&M University (20-10 at No.5.
 
The spots for No. 6 through No. 9 were occupied by all Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Schools. Colorado School of Mines (22-4) was voted No. 6. Westminster(17-8) moved up one spot to No. 7. In the No. 8 spot is Colorado State University – Pueblo (18-6). Finally, for the RMAC schools, Metropolitan State University of Denver stayed at No. 9.
 
For the first time, Angelo State (14-12) entered the rankings at No. 10.
 
The LSC Championship Quarterfinals begin on Friday, March 4, which will feature TWU, West Texas A&M, Angelo State, Texas A&M – Commerce and Lubbock Christian.
