DENTON, Texas (Sept. 15 2023) – After a great night in Searcy, Ark., the Texas Woman's soccer team continues their road trip to Arkadelphia, Ark. to take on Ouachita Baptist on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 1 p.m.

TWU (5-0) is coming off a hard-fought win against Harding on Thursday night, a game that gave the Pioneers their best start in program history. OBU (3-0-2) is also coming off a win against UT Tyler, in which they won 2-1.

This game is the last non-conference matchup for both teams before they start their respective conference games. TWU (Lone Star Conference) and OBU (Great American Conference) are both leading their conference standings with their non conference overall records

AN EVEN PAST

The Tigers own the all-time series between these two teams, but the Pioneers are looking to tie things up as they currently sit 2-3-1 against OBU.

In 2021, these two teams finished with some unresolved business, as they tied in a double overtime game in Arkadelphia, Ark. The last time they faced each other in 2022 in Denton, Texas the Tigers took the win with a 2-1 result. The Pioneer scoring the only TWU goal in the contest was the now junior Abby Powers

THE RECORD BREAKERS

  • TWU is still undefeated this season, and they look to continue to add to their four straight shutout games.

  • Amanda Farris is leading the individual stats among all goalies in the LSC, and she is setting herself up for another Goalkeeper of the Week.

  • Freshmen Alyssa Striker, Bailee Radney, Rachel Ryter and Giselle Gutierrez have all scored in the last five games, and they will continue to add to their stats while leading TWU to another win.
