RISE TO THE OCCASION:
-
A LOOK AT THE RAMBELLES: In their last two matches, ASU has yet to score a goal against their previous two opponents MSU Denver and Regis. Angelo State's last win came against the East Central Tigers on the road in a 1-0 victory, where ASU scored the only goal of the game by a penalty kick goal in the last five minutes of play. This will be the first conference match for ASU as they will look to defend their home field against the Pioneers.
-
A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: TWU is coming off a tough 2-1 victory over the Ouachita Baptist Tigers to extend their win streak to four games with their third road win. The early aggressive attack by the Pioneers led to a quick 2-0 lead in the first half with goals from LSC Offensive Player of the Week Giselle Gutierrez and Bailee Radney. The Tigers were able to match one of the TWU goals in the first half but could not get the tying goal in the back of the net. This game will mark the first conference matchup for the Pioneers as they are looking to add to their road success this season against Angelo State.
-
OPPORTUNITIES, DEFENSE, PHYSICALITY: Coach Babak Abouzar and his squad have a 68-39 shot advantage against their opponents this season and average 1.2 goals per game. Amanda Farris and that stout backline have only allowed three goals thus far with a .60 GA Average. The matchup between these two squads will come down to physicality and grittiness.
The Pioneers will take on ASU tomorrow at LeGrand Soccer Complex in San Angelo, Texas at 1 p.m.
