DENTON, Texas (Oct. 29, 2025) – The Texas Woman's soccer team is entering the final stretch of the regular season. The Pioneers (10-2-3, 6-2-3) travel to Edmond on Wednesday, Oct. 29, to face Oklahoma Christian (6-7-2, 4-6-1) at 7 p.m. before returning home for Senior Day against St. Edward's (6-8-2, 5-5-2) on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m. at Pioneer Soccer Park.

Wednesday's match will mark the ninth all-time meeting between TWU and Oklahoma Christian, with the Pioneers leading the series 7-0-1. St. Edward's holds a 10-4-2 advantage in its all-time series with TWU.

The Pioneers currently sit fifth in the Lone Star Conference standings, while St. Edward's ranks eighth and Oklahoma Christian 10th. TWU snapped a short winless streak last week with a 1–0 victory over Lubbock Christian and will look to carry that momentum into the final week of conference play.

PIONEERS HEADED TO EDMOND

  • A LOOK AT OC: The Eagles enter Wednesday's match following losses to UT Dallas and No. 1 Dallas Baptist. Their last win came on Oct. 15 at home against Texas A&M International. Last season, the two teams battled to a 0–0 draw — the first tie in series history — after TWU had won seven straight meetings. Oklahoma Christian's attack is led by Caid Jefferson and Zoe Ross, who each have four goals and will look to spark the offense at home as the Eagles try to end a two-match skid.

HILLTOPPERS SET TO VISIT DENTON

  • A LOOK AT SEU: The Hilltoppers enter Saturday's match on a one-game win streak after a 2–1 victory over Lubbock Christian last weekend. St. Edward's lead the all-time series against TWU but has not defeated the Pioneers since 2022 in Austin and not in Denton since 2019. The teams have met three times since, all won by TWU — including a 2024 LSC Tournament opening-round match at Pioneer Soccer Park, where the Pioneers advanced to the semifinals on penalty kicks, 3–2. The Hilltoppers will lean on LSC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year Annie Rocha and graduate midfielder Marie Hannedouche to generate chances and improve their conference position.

  • A  LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: Texas Woman's returned to the win column last week with a 1–0 victory over Lubbock Christian, thanks to freshman Nadia Araiza's goal in the final minute of the first half. The Pioneers' defense, led by goalkeepers Faith Graves and Amanda Farris, along with veteran defender Erica Brelove, held firm to secure the shutout, continuing a season-long trend of gritty defensive play. Offensively, junior forward Giselle Gutierrez leads the Pioneers with eight goals and will look to reach double digits this week. Midfielder Oliveros has contributed four goals from the midfield, helping power TWU's attack that ranks among the best in the conference.

  • KEYS TO THE GAME: SCORE EARLY AND FINISH >> Through 15 matches, TWU averages 2.4 goals per match with a .468 shots-on-goal percentage. The Pioneers rank second in the LSC in shots, points, goals, and assists, outscoring opponents 36–13 while averaging 16.7 shots per match. Defensively, TWU has allowed just 13 goals and 81 total shots (5.4 per match). The Pioneers will aim to build on their recent win and finish strong in conference play with two crucial matchups this week.

The Pioneers will look to build on their win streak against the Eagles on Wednesday, Oct. 29, and the Hilltoppers on Saturday at 1 p.m.
