DENTON, Texas (Nov. 17, 2025) - The Pioneers continue to make history this season, and for just the third time in program history, the Texas Woman's soccer team has earned a ticket to the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship. The NCAA officially announced the South Central Regional bracket, where TWU was selected as the No. 5 seed and will take on No. 4 seed Colorado Mesa at 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, in Dallas.
In the first round, TWU will face the Mavericks, which will be their second meeting in the tournament and sixth all-time matchup. The Pioneers hold a 3–2 all-time series lead over the Mavericks.Â
The first NCAA tournament game in the history of the TWU Soccer program was back in 2019 in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Pioneers were ranked as the fourth seed in the selection show that year and faced the No. 5 seed Dixie State, now known as Utah Tech.
TWU enter the postseason with a 15–3–3 record, powered by a program-record 13 shutouts and a defensive unit that has allowed just 16 goals in 21 matches.
Goalkeepers Faith Graves and Amanda Farris have combined to form one of the toughest tandems in the Lone Star Conference. Graves leads the squad with a 0.68 goals-against average and an .851 save percentage, while Farris has contributed nine wins and three shutouts. Anchored by defenders Erica Brelove, Alexandra Hughes, and Lupita Bueno, TWU's back line has dictated the rhythm of play all year.
The Pioneers entered Selection Show Monday ranked sixth in the final regional poll before officially securing the No. 5 seed in the NCAA field. The No. 1 seed, Dallas Baptist, will host one of the regional pods as the Pioneers are set to face the No. 4 seed, Colorado Mesa, in Dallas. The winner will advance to play the region's top seed, DBU, in the second round on Sunday.
