DENTON, Texas (Feb. 24, 2025) – Coreyon Chester, Texas Woman's Sports Information Director, was selected as a recipient of the 2025 NCAA Inclusion College Sports Communicators Convention Grant.
"I am truly honored to be one of the six recipients of the CSC Inclusion Grant and to have the opportunity to visit the National Office and attend the CSC Convention in Orlando, Florida," Chester said. "This will be my first time visiting the National Office, and my second time attending the Convention. I can't wait to see what's in store! Congratulations to all the other CSC recipients, and I look forward to seeing everyone in June!"
Chester served as the Pioneers' communications graduate assistant for one full year before being promoted to the Sports Information Director position in June 2024. Chester works as the primary contact for soccer, wrestling, softball and STUNT. While writing articles for the teams, he also oversees their social media, creates graphic packages, produces game highlights and works to also produce features for the department.
While serving as the primary contact for four sports, he also works to assists with all the communication efforts within the TWU athletic departments.
In his role, Chester prioritizes the student-athlete experience and works to make sure each student-athlete has all their successes highlighted both on and off the field.
Over the summer, Chester was additionally named a recipient of the 2024 Wylie Smith Postgraduate Scholarship. He is currently pursuing a graduate degree in sports management at TWU.
For the NCAA Inclusion CSC Convention Grant Program, six members from the three NCAA Divisions were selected. According to the CSC release, "the program's goal is to advocate for diversity within the athletic communications profession. The program includes a visit to the NCAA national office and pairs recipients with a CSC mentor for the upcoming academic year on top of covering registration fees, lodging and transportation."
The program is in its seventh year of partnership between CSC and the NCAA's Leadership Development and Media Coordination and Statistics staffs.

Morgan Lair. "He works tirelessly to make sure our athletes are covered at the highest level. He leads our student workers and graduate assistants with positivity and professionalism. Our department is blessed to have him, and I am so excited to see him continue to grow in this field. I know this grant will afford him the opportunity to learn and continue to pursue his goals in collegiate athletics."
