DENTON, Texas (August 19, 2026) – The Texas Woman's Athletic Department announced the promotion of Coreyon Chester and Morgan Lair on Wednesday.

Coreyon Chester will now serve as the Director of Sports Information, and Morgan Lair has been promoted to the Associate Director of Athletics.

"I want to extend my gratitude to Morgan and Coreyon whose dedication, hard work, and expertise have been instrumental to our department's success," said Executive Director of Athletics Sandee Mott. "Their contributions have laid the foundation for where we are today, and these well-deserved promotions mark an exciting new chapter for us. By elevating proven leaders from within, we are strengthening our organizational structure and positioning ourselves to expand our capabilities and deliver even greater value and service to our student-athletes and fans."

Chester has been with the Pioneers for four years, and he will now assume the role of Director of Sports Information. Most recently, Chester served as the Sports Information Director at TWU, working as the primary communications contact for soccer, wrestling, softball and STUNT, which includes authoring articles, serving as their social media manager, creating graphics and video content. Chester also assisted in media coverage for all nine of the Pioneers programs.

"I'm incredibly thankful and honored for this opportunity to continue growing in my career and to take on the role of Director of Sports Information at Texas Woman's University," Chester said. "I'm especially grateful to Sandee and Morgan for the trust they have placed in me and for the opportunities they have given me to grow, learn and become a leader within this department."

Additionally, within his role, Chester oversaw student workers to coordinate successful game day experiences for all teams. He worked to provide live stream coverage of the events, successful game day promotions and proper live stats. Furthermore, Chester sought opportunities to grow his leadership skills through involvement in College Sports Communicators (CSC), the CSC Mentoring Program and Black College Sports Communicators (BCSC).

In the past year, Chester oversaw media relations and communications efforts for the NCAA Women's Basketball South Central Regional Tournament, which TWU hosted for the third straight year. Additionally, Chester led the coverage of a historical season for the TWU soccer team. He spearheaded social media posts, graphic creation and authored articles for the Pioneers as they made a historical run to the Lone Star Conference Championship game for the first time in program history and claimed their first NCAA Tournament win.

Chester has always approached his position with passion and a commitment to excellence. Overall, he works with a service mindset, wanting and working to provide the best coverage for each and every student-athlete that steps onto the TWU campus. Chester has gone above and beyond his job description in his four years here by putting the student-athlete experience first. Chester worked on several special projects to highlight the voices of the Pioneers, including a video interview showcasing the rehab and playing journey of twin soccer players, Haylee and Rylee Avery.

Prior to his work as the Sports Information Director, he served as the TWU Communications Graduate Assistant. During his one year in this role, Chester assisted in coordinating live stream set-up for game days, authored pre- and post-game articles, coordinated social media coverage and served as a contributing content creator for all nine sports. He also worked to learn stat programs, graphic design and took on opportunities to grow his leadership skills. In the spring semester, Chester continued to grow in his role and became the primary contact for STUNT, as he covered the team's historical first year in the Lone Star Conference.

During his time at TWU, Chester has been honored with the 2024 CSC Wylie Smith Postgraduate Scholarship, which helped him earn his master's degree in sports management from TWU in Spring 2025. He was also named a recipient of the 2025 NCAA Inclusion College Sports Communicators Convention Grant. As one of six recipients selected, Chester attended the annual CSC Unite Convention and received a trip to the NCAA National Office, while getting the opportunity to network with industry leaders. Most recently, he received the Pioneer Spirit Award presented by TWU Student Life.

In his new role, Chester will oversee the primary communication efforts for the TWU athletic programs by supervising the Assistant Director of Sports Information, graduate assistants and student workers. Chester will continue to serve as the primary contact for a selection of sports, while also working to continue to elevate the media presence of all TWU Athletics.

Prior to his work at TWU, Chester worked as an Athletic Communications Intern at Lindsey Wilson College. At Lindsey Wilson, he was responsible for writing articles, creating media notes and game day set-up. Chester also grew his skill set while assisting in keeping stats, PA announcing, broadcasting and overseeing live social media coverage.

Chester moved to Lindsey Wilson College after completing his undergraduate degree at the University of North Texas, graduating with a degree in broadcast journalism. While completing his undergraduate degree, he worked as a student volunteer for UNT Athletics, assisting primarily in women's basketball coverage.

Lair will now serve as the Associate Director of Athletics, while continuing to oversee the athletic communications office, provide sport oversight and serve as the department's Senior Woman Administrator.

"I am so proud to be a Pioneer," Lair said. "I truly believe in the mission of TWU to empower women to achieve excellence, and I am honored to contribute to that mission within TWU Athletics. Within the athletic department, I am daily inspired to serve our student-athletes, coaches and administrators, as we aim to grow the footprint of TWU Athletics and continue to win championships in competition, academics and in service. I am grateful to Sandee for her mentorship and trust, as I move into a new leadership role in the department. I am blessed to come to TWU every day and continue to work alongside amazing individuals to pioneer success."

Through each of these accomplishments, Lair has prioritized storytelling that celebrates the achievements of Pioneer student-athletes, coaches and programs while strengthening the overall brand and national recognition of Texas Woman's Athletics.

A respected leader within collegiate athletics communications, Lair served as the Chair of the Lone Star Conference Sports Information Directors Committee and was actively involved with College Sports Communicators (CSC) as a member of the Young Professionals Committee and Academic All-America Committee. She has represented Texas Woman's on the national stage as the press conference moderator for the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships in 2023 and 2024.
